Svartfotsvraket

This wreck is dated back to early 20th century

Svartfotsvraket

This wreck dates from the early 1900s, probably around 1905. The exact history or name of the wreck is unknown but the story being told is as follows.

At this time, the beginning of the 20th century, the workers in Sweden began to demand better working conditions. They organized themselves into trade unions and large general strikes succeeded each other. Some employers solved the problem by hiring strikebreakers, called "svartfötter" in Swedish (blackfeet), and the story surrounding the wreck says that a group of "svartfötter" lived on this ship.

Now the story is different, there are two variants. According to one, it was the strikebreakers themselves who negligently caused the fire on the boat (they used an open stove for cooking), according to the other, it was striking workers who set fire to the ship as revenge for the strikebreaker.

The wreck is located in the middle of a marina and is therefore only diveable during the winter months. The wreck lies between 6 and 16 meters. A little way behind is a small skiff on the bottom.
